The more you make YOUR mark on something,
the more time you'll want to spend with it.
the more time you'll want to spend with it.
In our Writer's Notebooks, we're going to start off by making:
INSPIRATION LISTS!
These lists will always be in the front of your
notebook and will allow you to think of fun memories, stories,
your favorite things, and many other items that
may end up inspiring your writing! YOU have a story to tell.
Inspiration List #1: Dedication Page
(This is an example picture.) - Who do you want to dedicate your hard work to? - Who inspires you in life? - Who inspires you in school? - Do you have a role model who has helped you in certain ways? I dedicated my Writer's Notebook to my favorite High School English teacher! I learned so much about literature during her class but she made every day seem like a party. |
List #2: Table of Contents
(This is an example picture) We keep track of all of our writing by keeping a Table of Contents like the list to the left! Throughout the year we'll be sure to number all of our pages in the corner. Organization = Happy Writers! Write "Table of Contents" in heading of the next 2 pages.(Front/Back, Front/Back) just so that we have room to grow. |
List #3: Authority List
List #4: Heart Map
List #5: Writing Ideas
(This is an example picture) This is a page that you will add onto as the year goes on! If you are in the middle of an activity and all of a sudden you think of something you could write about, you jot it on this list. Ms. R's Writing Ideas: - Getting stung by 7 bees on the family hiking trip - Taking the elevator up the Eiffel Tower - When the AC went out at Eastover - list of where I want to go on my next vacation and why - How I met Ariana Grande This can truly be ANYTHING you can write about. |
That's all for now, folks! We'll be adding onto this once we finish this first phase.
Any decoration that you would like to do to the outside of your notebook is
COMPLETELY up to you. Decorate it however is most fun to you.
