class by Ms. R or papers that have been dispersed to all families through Tuesday folders!
-The project will begin with research of the students' individual character which will be done both at home and at school.
- Students will take notes using a graphic organizer to help them create a personal narrative speech. Students will be held responsible for holding onto this graphic organizer throughout the Writing Process. -Students will use at least THREE different reliable sources for their info to make sure that all information is accurate! Wikipedia is NOT a reliable source. |
Q: How many paragraphs does my personal narrative speech need to be?
A: There is no max or minimum as to how many paragraphs your speech needs to be, but a TIME LIMIT instead. Your narrative should be long enough that you're speaking for 60-90 seconds.

Q: Do I have to go out and buy a costume for my Wax Museum character?
A: No way! We do NOT want you to go out and buy something, but instead, try to go in your own closet and find something that works! Look at the picture of the man above. (Really...scroll up now and look...) I could go in my closet right now, grab a white blouse, navy pants, white long tube socks, black flats that I wear all the time, a sweater, and BOOM!
I'm a Colonial Character.
Q: Am I allowed to go to Goodwill to buy something and sew/create something new?
A: If creating and sewing is something that you enjoy and something you would like to, sure! Just DO NOT SPEND over $10.00 on this project. That's not the point of the Wax Museum. We want you to be creative and use what you have!
Q: When I turn in this project, what will the end result look like?
A: You will have your name, homeroom, number, and character name at the top left hand side. Your typed narrative (varying between 1-2 pages) will use size 12 and clear font. After your narrative you will then list the THREE (minimum) reliable sources that you used to find your research.

Q: Can all of my reliable sources be from a website?
A: Yes, they can! However if you find a book on your character, you can also use that.
Just list the book title and author on your list instead!
Q: When/Where IS the Wax Museum? Who will come watch me say my awesome speech?
A: March 28th in the auditorium. Parents/guardians/all loved ones and students will be invited to come see
you on this day!
